Heat Press

Follow the instructions below for how to apply your fabric decals (DTF transfers) with a heat press to your shirt or other material.

Other application methods.

1. Placement:

Take your time lining up your design exactly where you want it on your item. Flat heat presses usually don't need heat-resistant tape to hold the design, but it can help on curved or uneven surfaces.

2. Apply Heat:

Press your design with medium pressure for 15 seconds at 310°F (155°C). Don't worry about damaging the transfer with more heat, pressure, or time (within reason). However, too much heat can scorch your clothes, so test on a scrap first. Use the provided parchment paper or a teflon sheet to shield your garment from direct plate contact.

3. Cool Down and Peel Carefully:

Let the transfer cool completely (about 15-30 seconds) before peeling. Here's the key: look closely as you peel a corner to make sure the entire design sticks. If it doesn't, stop peeling and re-press.

  • Not Sticking? More heat, pressure, or time is needed. Press again with more pressure and a bit longer (add 5-10 seconds). If that doesn't work, try increasing the heat by 15°F increments until it bonds perfectly. Don't worry, pressing multiple times won't harm the transfer.

4. Final Touch (Optional):

For extra durability and a more matte finish, place the included parchment paper or a single layer of t-shirt material over the design and press again for 15 seconds. This softens the design and removes any shine. If you prefer a shiny look, use a teflon sheet during this final press.

Washing Tips:

Turn the shirt inside out, wash on cold, and use low heat or hang-dry for best results.

The Bolt

The concept behind the bolt came about as I was exploring a way to represent the concepts of unity and creative collaboration. One of the early-ish sketches had two heads with a bolt between them as a representation of that creative spark/connection.

From those sketches I ended up with the bolt you see in Group Wrk branding and products today. We all get that spark of creativity, whether on our own or when we work with others so it felt like the perfect symbol to use for this project.
